Judge Lidija Djukić

 

Lidija Djukić was born on 16 June 1958 in Ivangrad (today Berane), Montenegro.

 

She graduated from the Faculty of Law, the University of Novi Sad, in December 1980.

She worked as a judge trainee at the Novi Sad Municipal Court from May 1982 to May 1983, and took the bar examination in June 1983.

From December 1983, she worked at the Primary Court of Organized Labour in Novi Sad as an associate. In April 1989, she was elected judge for the Primary Court of Organized Labour in Novi Sad.

From December 1992 to July 2003, she was a judge of the Novi Sad Municipal Court (litigation division). In this period she also administered the Civil Section, from November 1995, and acted as the Court President Deputy, whereas from July 2000 to June 2001 she was an Acting President of the Court.

From July 2003 she was a judge of the Novi Sad County Court (litigation division).

From January 2010 to July 2019, she was a judge of the Supreme Court of Cassation (Civil Division – general litigation and family and labour disputes division).

In addition to her judicial work, she dedicates her time also to other activities, all directly or indirectly related to the judicial work, out of which these stand out:

- Published papers: Unlawful dismissal from work (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Serbia, no. 2/2006), Termination of the Work Contract for Disciplinary Reasons (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Serbia no. 3/2007), The Employer’s Liability for Compensation of Damages Caused by Mobbing (The Collection of Works of the Association of Indemnity Law – 2010); New Additions to the Law on Litigation Proceedings (The Collection of Works – Glosarijum 2012); Legal Protection Against Mobbing (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Cassation no. 3/2012); The Disciplinary Reasons for Dismissal According to the Law on Amendments to the Labour Law (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Cassation no. 4/2014); Legal Protection Against Discrimination (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Cassation no. 3/2016); Mobbing (The Bulletin of the Supreme Court of Cassation no. 3/2017);

- Since 2003 she has been a lecturer at the Judicial Centre, now Judicial Academy (civil-procedure law, obligation law, labour law, discrimination, mobbing, trial within a reasonable time);

- From January 2010 to September 2016, she was the president of the examination board for the bar examination in Novi Sad, formed by the Provincial Secretariat for Regulation, Administration and National Minorities of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, and examiner in the subject Labour Law);

- She took part in numerous consultations, conferences, seminars and round tables in various legal fields organised by the Supreme Court of Cassation, Judicial Academy, Equality Protection Commissioner, Agency for Peaceful Resolution of Labour Disputes, etc.

She was elected as the Constitutional Court Judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation General Session on 19 April 2019. She took office as a judge of the Constitutional Court on 25 July 2019, by taking the oath before the President of the National Assembly.

Her judgeship ended on June 16, 2023, due to the fulfillment of the retirement age.
