Judge Bratislav Đokić

Born in Prizren in 1960. He completed his primary and secondary school in Krusevac. He graduated (with distinction) from Nis Faculty of Law in 1986. He is currently working towards a PhD at the Faculty of Law, Belgrade Union University.

After graduation he served as trainee judge in the Municipal Court, City of Krusevac. From 1991 to 2002 he served as solicitor. In 2000 he was elected Vice- President of the Municipal Assembly of Krusevac. During the period 2003-2009, he was assistant to the minister in the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government where he has performed the most complex legal and regulatory tasks. He was a chair or a member of working groups engaged in drafting laws in the fields of local self-government, territorial organization, elections, industrial relations, administrative dispute and administrative proceeding. As a representative of the Republic of Serbia, he was a member of the Steering Committee on Local and Regional Democracy of the Council of Europe. As an expert in the field of local self-government, he participated in the work of the COE Committee of Experts on the Legal Framework and Institutional Structure of Local and Regional Government. He was appointed as judge of the Administrative Court in December 2009. 

He has spent a few years in several European countries (Holland, Czech Republic, Spain, Deutschland, Austria, France, Switzerland, Portugal) and in the USA with a view to advancing his professional knowledge in areas of humanitarian law, constitutional arrangement, local self-government and public administration. He has presented his papers and lectures at professional gatherings and seminars covering the themes on public administration, local self-government and election law. He is also a co-author of the book ‘Comments on Local Self-Government Law’.

He was appointed as Constitutional Court Judge in April 2010.

His judicial function ended on 29 April 2019, when his term of office expired.
