Judge Dr. Milan B. Marković 

Milan Marković was born on 26 August 1967, in Pristina. He completed his primary and secondary school in Kragujevac. After graduating from Kragujevac Faculty of Law in 1992, he found a placement as a trainee lawyer in the Yugoslav Railways. He passed his bar exam in 1992. Since 1997 he worked in the Republic Attorney General Office performing the duties of an adviser and secretary. At the annual general meeting of the Supreme Court of Serbia in 2001 he was appointed the Supreme Court Secretary. He took up the position of deputy Republic Attorney General in 2002 and from 2005 to 2008 he served as the Republic Attorney General. In 2008 he was appointed to the position of Republic attorney-general to serve a four year term of office.

He obtained both MA and PhD degree (the first one in 2006 and the other in 2016) at the Univesity Business Academy Faculty of Law for Commerce and Judiciary in Novi Sad.

He has been a representative of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro in the Minority Rights Group at the Central European Initiative, president of the Commission on determination of compensation for damages incurred on persons unjustifiably convicted and groundlessly imprisoned and president of the Commission on compensation for damages under the Constitutional Court’s decision by which a constitutional claim was accepted and president of the Commission on drafting the Law on Free Legal Advice. He was a member of the legal team representing the Republic of Serbia in a great number of arbitrary disputes.

He is also a member of the editorial board of the legal newsletter “Pravni informator”.  He participated in the development and implementation of several national and international projects. He published dozens of works on civil law matters.

He speaks English.

He is married and has a daughter Mia.

He was appointed as Constitutional Court Judge in April 2010.

His judicial function ended on 29 April 2019, when his term of office expired.
